"Experience is not improvised" Have you heard this phrase,
right? Well, it turns out that it fits Sheynnis like a glove because the
24-year-old began her career in beauty pageants when she was just a teenager,
meaning that before stepping onto the Miss Universe stage, the Nicaraguan
already had seven years of experience.

Below, I show you the different beauty pageants in which Sheynnis
participated before going to the top beauty pageant.

This note is also available in Spanish. Click Here to read it!

Participation in national and international beauty pageants

Her first national pageant was at the age of 16

The first platform to take the first step in this industry was the
Nicaraguan pageant Miss Teen Nicaragua 2016, which, before the terrible events
of 2018, was a pageant that had the approval of the Nicaraguan people.

Sheynnis won the crown from among 15 candidates and obtained the right
to represent Nicaragua in another international contest for teenagers, called
Teen Universe.

In the 2017 edition of Teen Universe, held in Managua, Nicaragua, 25
teenagers participated in total. Sheynnis did not manage to win the crown, but
she did win a place in the top 6 of the contest. The crown was won by India.

Miss World… a test of fire and determination

Miss World Nicaragua was her third platform. In May 2020, Sheynnis, then
19 years old, won the crown of one of the most important pageants in the
country. The young Diriambina also won the award for the best social project.
The Miss World 2020 sash and crown gave Sheynnis the right to be called
Nicaragua in the world competition with the largest number of candidates, Miss
World, in its 71st edition.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Miss World 2021 edition was postponed
to March 2022. The event was held in Puerto Rico, amid several controversies
related to the production, financing and execution of the pageant.

But none of that overshadowed the brilliance of the candidates, who met
in this Caribbean country to conquer the crown. Sheynnis made four important
achievements for Nicaragua, this being a historic feat that had not been
achieved by any other Nicaraguan (but I hope it is repeated!). Sheynnis was the
winner of the head-to-head challenge in her first group meeting and in her
match against Haiti. She was in the top 13 of the modeling challenge; she was a
semi-finalist in "Beauty with a Purpose", the emblematic competition
of the pageant; and finally, Sheynnis managed to be part of the Top 40 of that
edition (although she deserved a better position). It is worth mentioning that
97 candidates participated. Karolina Bielawska, from Poland, won the crown in
that edition.

Participation in Miss Nicaragua 2023

Miss Nicaragua 2023 would be her third national competition and also her
third national crown. On August 5, she was crowned in a simple ceremony, but
full of love and support from her followers and the general population, who saw
in Sheynnis a great contender for the universal crown. I invite you to read my
coverage of the official presentation of the candidates and Sheynnis' triumph
in this event. Click Here!

Then came Miss Universe 2023, a pageant in which she had the right to
participate, having won the national pageant of her beloved Nicaragua.

The young woman we now call Miss Universe 2023, grew up in humble conditions, her mother sold traditional food to subsidize basic household expenses.

Sheynnis helped her mother prepare the buñuelos and helped her grandmother to prepare the nacatamales. In several interviews before, during and after her triumph, the "Diriambina" (means from Diriamba city) said she felt very proud of her humble origins because, thanks to the sales of these gastronomic products, she managed to pay part of her university studies.

Sheynnis' story is very common in Nicaragua, and that is precisely the strength that Miss Universe 2023 brings to the Nicaraguan population, who like her sell national products and dishes to live, study or pay for some household needs. Nicaraguans identify with her because Sheynnis comes "from below", comes from the people, and before traveling to El Salvador, she had the support of the entire population, without differences of race, ethnicity, religion or politics. The young woman is a symbol of perseverance to achieve her dream of becoming Miss Universe.

Keep reading more about Sheynnis Palacios:

Historic visit of Sheynnis Palacios to Costa Rica

Know more about Sheynnis Palacios

In Nicaragua, the people's favorite won: Sheynnis Palacios was crowned

Who is Sheynnis Palacios?

Sheynnis Palacios is a 24-year-old woman, born on May 30, 2000, in Managua and raised in Carazo City, about 45 minutes from Managua.

Clock Tower, city of Diriamba in the department of Carazo, Nicaragua.

Do you love Facebook as much as I do? Then follow me by clicking Here

Carazo is known for being the birthplace of Güegüense and Toro Huaco, the traditional and historical dances of Nicaragua. Since 2008, The Güegüense or Macho Ratón has been an Intangible Heritage of Humanity, recognized by UNESCO. The Carazo Department is also recognized nationally for its magnificent beaches on the Pacific Ocean and for being a producer of coffee, sugar cane, beans, corn, and rice, among other agricultural products.

El Gueguense Dance

Miss Universe 2023 grew up surrounded by natural fields, sand, and sun, a lot of national identity, and with great respect for the country's culture and traditions.

She was born on an important date

For many, hearing the date May 30th may not mean anything special, but in Nicaragua, May 30th is one of the most important and celebrated dates of the year. May 30th is Mother's Day and is celebrated with the family, with a delicious cake decorated in red and white, with music, with mariachis that sing and dedicate special songs, dance numbers, theater, crafts, and recitations prepared by children in schools. It is a real party.

I'm ALSO on TikTok, follow me! Click Here! :)

Sheynnis was born on an important day for any Nicaraguan mother, because in Nicaragua the majority of households are headed by single mothers, as was the case of Sheynnis, who grew up under the care of her mother and grandmother, mainly.

Sheynnis with her mother and grandmother

In fact, in Managua, there is a beautiful tradition that the media started several decades ago. This tradition consists of giving gifts to the first baby born on May 30th. Guess who was the first Nicaraguan baby born on May 30th, 2000? Yes, you guessed it, it was our beautiful Sheynnis. In addition to being showered with gifts, her birth was in the news all over the country. “She was born with an angel” as the old folks on my block would say, meaning she was born blessed and destiny would prove it.

Learn more about Sheynnis in my special section about her. Everything you want to know is here!

Helen Morales was selected to wear the Miss International Guatemala sash. The beautiful young woman from Izabal will travel to Tokyo, Japan, where the next edition of Miss International will take place. Helen is 26 years old and is 1.70 meters tall. She studies Hospitality, Tourism and Gastronomy Administration.

All of them were part of a group made up of 13 young people. What do you think of these beautiful Guatemalan girls? Do you visualize them at the top of their respective international competitions? Leave me your comment; you know I read them all.
I imagine you want to know what I think about these 04 newly crowned queens and election night, and of course I'm going to tell you, but not in this note, but in the next one, so see you soon!

A Guatemalan contestant, wore the national costume of Miss Universe 2023 at the fair pageant

I found out from the prestigious Facebook page "Reinas
Guatemaltecas" (Guatemalan Queens), that the costume design worn by
Sheynnis Palacios, Miss Universe 2023, was worn by a beautiful young Guatemalan
girl who was a candidate for the "Flor de Feria" pageant, Santo Tomás
de Castilla in Izabal ".

I am talking about the young Olga Yuliana Galindo, who, with a huge
smile, wore the prestigious outfit designed by the talented and prestigious
Nicaraguan designer Jorge Salazar.

There was a lot of commotion on social media, on the part of the
Nicaraguans who hail this costume as iconic and historic, of utmost importance
for the country, not only because it was worn by the first Nicaraguan and
Central American to be crowned, live, as Miss Universe, but for what it
represents for the Nicaraguan culture and its people. So, to be honest, this
news was not entirely well received by the Nicaraguan community. The one who
was filled with great joy was Sheynnis Palacios herself, the 23-year-old girl
shared a short video showing Olga, parading with "El Zanate", the
name of the fantasy costume in question.

Sheynnis showed her amazement and joy through five "I'm in
love" emojis. At first, many Nicaraguans and Guatemalans thought that Olga
Galindo's costume was a well-made replica, but she herself took it upon to deny
this: "It is not a replica, it is the original, and it was me who wore
it."

My triumph belongs to all of Central America

Sheynnis Palacios has said that her triumph does not belong to her, nor
to her family or her beloved Nicaragua, but to all of Central America, and she
said it recently in Costa Rica, the country where is, at this moment,
fulfilling universal duties. So, seeing a Guatemalan woman wearing this costume
corroborates her sincere words.

Another prestige fantasy costume was modeled at the same event

The same Facebook page "Reinas Guatemaltecas" (Guatemalan
Queens) highlighted that another costume design that was on an international
stage was also part of the costume parade of this event (Flor de Feria), it is
the costume that won the competition in this category, in the Miss
Intercontinental 2019 pageant.

And what do you think about costumes that have already achieved
worldwide fame and prestige being modeled in a local, fair or municipal beauty
contest? You already know that I read all the comments, so leave me yours.

Historic visit of Sheynnis Palacios to Costa Rica

It had to be that way!
The first country to be visited by the Nicaraguan Sheynnis Palacios, Miss
Universe 2023, had to be Costa Rica, and it was.

The spectacular young woman landed yesterday at noon in this beautiful country, and today she joined the press conference of a media outlet to present the new franchisee of the Miss Universe brand in Costa Rica.

Sheynnis looked radiant
and showed off her excellent oratory in Spanish, answering questions from
journalists and attendees at the event. One of the questions they asked her was
if she would like to return to Costa Rica to celebrate her victory with the Nicaraguan
community that lives in this country (which is around 350,000, according to
official figures). The 23-year-old responded that she would like to return
"not only to celebrate with the Nicas, but with all Central Americans
because this triumph belongs to all of Central America, to the Panamanians, the
Ticos, the Nicas, the Salvadorans, to everyone" because She is the first
Central American Miss Universe crowned live, on the stage.

Would Costa Rica
consider (again) hosting The Miss Universe Competition?

A very interesting
question that was asked to Mr. Carlos Valenciano, new franchisee and CEO of the
channel that bought the broadcast rights to Miss Universe, is whether Costa
Rica could host The Miss Universe Competition in future editions. The businessman
responded that it does not depend on him, but on a joint effort by the
government and private companies and on the will of God.

Let us remember that
Costa Rica was in negotiations with the Miss Universe organization at the
beginning of 2021, and even Shawn McClein, vice president of the organization
at that time, visited the country in the company of other pageant officials.
However, the businessmen and the Costa Rican government did not reach a
sustainable agreement and the whole idea of being the official venue of the
event fell apart. It was then that El Salvador took advantage of the
opportunity and interest of the Miss Universe organization in the Central
America Region, and closed the deal without so much bureaucracy.

Will we Central
Americans enjoy another universal edition in our land full of biodiversity,
culture and tradition? I hope so, and you? Leave me your answer in the
comments, you know I read them all.

Karen Celebertti resigns from the direction of Miss Universe Nicaragua

Although all Nicaraguans already saw it coming, due to the current situation and context of the country, last night, Karen Celebertti, director of the Miss Nicaragua organization, officially renounced the rights to be director and franchisor of Miss Universe for Nicaragua.

The news was published last night by Karen herself, through her social media; in a statement that upon reading it, it feels full of sadness, repressed emotions, a lot of gratitude and pride for promoting every corner of Nicaragua on her beauty pageant platform.

Photo of Karen Celebertti

In said statement, Celebertti mentions the following: "For 23 years I have worked with zeal and effort to exalt the name of my homeland Nicaragua through the platform of Miss Nicaragua. I have done it with transparency, with a lot of love and believing in everyone and each one of them unique because talent and beauty abound in every corner of the country.

What happened to Karen after the winning of Sheynnis Palacios?

After Sheynnis's acclaimed triumph, Celebertti is in exile after the Nicaraguan government expelled her from the country and accused her and her family of treason for the triumph of the spectacular diriambina Sheynnis Palacios in the Miss Universe 2023 pageant and for the massive celebration of the Nicaraguan people in the streets of the entire country. Yeah! For those who read and do not believe it, I assure you that it is so.

The first crown in 23 years
After 23 years in charge of the franchise, Celebertti won, thanks to the exceptional work of Sheynnis, the first Miss Universe crown for Nicaragua and for the Central American region.

Photo of Sheynnis Palacios, Miss Universe 2023

Opinions for and against

After the statement issued by the now former director of the Miss Nicaragua organization, social media were flooded with opinions. There were many who labeled these events as "Karma" due to the damage and the evident lack of support and sincere commitment of Karen to the country and its queens, since for many Internet users who wrote their opinion on different Nicaraguan pages, "everything bad it returns".

Other Nicaraguan users left "karma" aside and expressed solidarity with Karen and her difficult situation, ensuring that she did not deserve to withdraw from the Miss Nicaragua organization like this, after so many years of work. I join all those who think this way and I believe very honestly that although Karen has left much to be desired professionally and as a director, this is the best moment that we, Nicaraguans, have to show our empathy and our love for others and wish for her and her loved ones, peace, family unity and a prompt solution to the problems generated as a result of this beautiful Central American triumph.

Karen posing with Sheynnis Palacios

What is going to happen with Miss Universe Nicaragua?
Nobody knows what is coming, although on social media there are several who have speculated about the fate of the franchise. There are many who think that Miss Universe Nicaragua is not going to disappear, but that someone else will be in charge of the organization.

We'll see what will happen, for now and despite these events, Nicaragua and Nicaraguans continue to celebrate and fawn over their first universal queen, the gorgeous Sheynnis Palacios.

On August 5, from a famous hotel in Managua, the capital of Nicaragua,
the election and coronation of the Nicaraguan sovereign of beauty took place, I
mean Miss Universe Nicaragua 2023, obviously.

The great winner of the night was the mega favorite of the Nicaraguan
people, Sheynnis Palacios, a beautiful, talented and elegant 23-year-old woman,
originally from the department of Carazo. Sheynnis was part of the 10
candidates who wanted to obtain the right to represent the land of lakes and
volcanoes in the next edition of Miss Universe, which will take place next
Saturday, November 18, in the capital city of El Salvador.

Facebook of Miss Universe Nicaragua, profile of Sheynnis Palacios and Vos TV.

Sheynnis Palacios modeling in evening gown, before
winning the crown

In this note I want to share with you everything that happened in the
coronation of this stunning girl, who has already become for many critics of
beauty queens, including me, as a strong contestant to the crown of Miss
Universe for the American continent.

The opening

To the
rhythm of a mix of electronic music, the 10 candidates appeared on stage, along
with energetic dancers. The queens danced well coordinated, and it was evident
in each movement they made. The coordination they had was admirable.

The
choreography seemed very good to me, the organization opted for the traditional
format, you know: arm extensions, glances at the sky, huge smiles, turns and
frontal displacements, as well as exchange of places between candidates.

The outfit
was fine, although I must tell you that I did not like it. I think it was not
because of the design, but because of the color. They opted for a silver color
(for all contestants) that with the colors of the scenery (white and blue) did
not spread emotion or joy, but the design suited all the candidates very well
and that is what is important.

It may be interested to read All Details of Miss Universe Philippines 2023 Election

Speaking of
the set design, I must tell you that it was not impressive, but it looked very
good. Taking into consideration that the event was broadcast on the Miss
Universe channel on YouTube, I think the organization could have invested a
little more to project itself in a more elegant and professional way, after
all, the eyes of the universe were on Nicaragua.

At the time
of appearing before the public, the candidates posed for the camera.
Pre-recorded voices were heard from the stage, very much in the style of the
Teens' beauty pageants. I guess this is something the organizations want to
experiment with, but it doesn't work quite well. I think it is important for
the candidates to have that "first contact" live with the audience,
it helps them to release the tension of the moment and remove stage fright.
Trust me, I know what I'm talking about!

The Presenters

It was a
girls' night, literally, the selection panel was made up only of women but also
those who animated the gala. Three beautiful Nicaraguan women were in charge of
this task: Valeria Sánchez, Cristiana Frixione and Diana Navarro. I loved Diana
hosting the last Official Presentation night of the candidates, but I didn't
love her this time. I did not like the lack of complicity and harmony between
them. Valeria spent her time reading the script (which hasn't changed in
decades) she has animated the show so many times that so much reading seems
unjustifiable.

Cristiana
was not bad, although she made several faces that I didn't understand, and
sometimes she didn't flow naturally when speaking. I think that the three of
them had no chemistry together, in fact I noticed that Valeria made signs to
Cristiana and even point out on Cristiana's notes to indicate that it was her
turn to talk and not hers. A little more harmony and teamwork, Valeria! You are
presenting for the audience, nobody is interested in knowing if it is your turn
or your partner's, the most important is that the show must continue.

Presenting
in Spanish, with English subtitles?

I was
disappointed to see the pageant organizers missed two golden opportunities by
choosing to tell the English audience to "turn on English subtitles on
YouTube" to understand the broadcast on the Miss Universe YouTube channel.
The first opportunity was to have three bilingual presenters who without any
complications were able to direct the show completely in English, they were
able to make a 100% bilingual show with one of them presenting in Spanish and
another presenting in English.

The second
opportunity the Miss Nicaragua Organization let go was the international
projection and placing its brand. They didn't take advantage of it at all, they
didn't promote the candidates, the country, the achievements of Nicaragua in
Miss Universe (Yes, Nicaragua stands out for its beautiful costumes and
naturally beautiful candidates) or the talent of our national singers. What a
waste of opportunity and consider that the Miss Universe Organization
publicized this transmission because it was, officially, the first of this line
of promotion and international strategy that the new direction of the event is
implementing.

Enjoy the photos of Miss Nicaragua 2023 Here

Taking about the broadcast of national pageants on the universal platform: It seems to me
that Miss Universe should demand a minimum in stage quality, audio and
lighting, as well as request bilingual animation so that fans of the universe
can really enjoy the show, and with this I am not referring only to Miss
Universe Nicaragua, but to all the national pageants that choose to be included
on the Miss Universe YouTube platform. What do you think of this idea? Remember
that I read all the comments! So, leave me yours.

Swimsuits
competition

I was scared
when I saw Isabela using, which it looks to me as thong, and
more scared when Melissa Morales also showed more skin that needed. I don't see
the need to show so much skin. Is it just me, or are the swimsuits in beauty
pageants getting smaller?

In this
part of the competition, Sheynnis Palacios, from Carazo department and Isabela
Salgado, from Chinandega department were the best, without a doubt, but Waymara
Antonio, from Puerto Cabezas, and Daysi Velasquez from Santa Lucia made it
fantastic. The 4 girls are beautiful! They projected a lot of elegance,
security and scenic domain and great body.

I can't
flatter the other candidates because didn't nail it. It made me sad to see that
they made almost no progress after the official presentation (two months ago),
which by the way! You can read about that special night Here. I saw many
candidates with a lack of body toning, stage and projection control and good catwalk.

All special
prizes for Sheynnis

Well...
almost all the awards, because only the Miss Smile prize was not for her, since
it was won by Daysi Velazquez. In total, the current Miss Nicaragua 2023 took
home six (06) prizes: Miss Solentis, Miss Beauty Shipping, Miss Water, Miss
Flawless Beauty, Miss Stylish Babyliss and Abundant Woman, the last one was
delivered by the organization of the pageant. The title of Miss Congeniality
went to Andrea Reyes from Managua.

I will only
tell you that it is very common for organizations to give all the prizes to the
winner, to create expectation at a national and international level and many
times, the winner does not deserve them all, but it was not the case of
Sheynnis, I think she deserved them. Remember, that they are prizes
given by sponsors and each one of them chooses to his or her will.

Evening
gown competition

I am glad
that the national designers of evening gowns were considered for the event. I
would love that every designer put the same effort into dressing all the
candidates well, regardless of whether they are favorites or not, but I
understand them: Each designer assumes the costs of making, sizing and shipping
the dress. Furthermore, I put my hands together for those designers that
continue, year after year, to be motivated to support the queens, despite the
limitations.

During this
time of the competition of the contest, the best evening designs were those
worn by Isabela, dressed by Jorge Salazar; Sheynnis, dressed by Jared Bermúdez;
Daysi, dressed by Erick Bendaña and Chantal Urbina, also dressed by Jared
Bermúdez. While the best in this competition were Sheynnis, Isabela, Daysi and
Waymara. You did great, girls!

Melissa Morales' mishap when she tripped during her parade, was that, a
mishap! So, let's not make a scandal out of something that usually happens on
stage. Melissa knew how to handle it, stopped, found her balance and kept
going. Well done
Melissa!

Daysi Velásquez

It may be interesting to read Salvadorans are IN SHOCK

Isabela Salgado during her parade in evening gown wearing a Jorge

Before
telling you who made it to the top, I must sadly emphasize that Miss Universe
2022 made a small intervention, through a video, addressing the entire country,
but I am sure that almost no one understood her because she spoke in English,
his native language and the video was not subtitled in Spanish. A "little
detail" that escaped from the producers and left many Nicaraguans upset or
wanting to learn English, I don't know!

The top 6
that in the end was top 5

The Miss
Nicaragua organization had announced during the official night of presentation
of the candidates that there would be 6 finalists, but apparently, they changed
their mind and decided to make a top 5, something that I was glad about,
because unfortunately there were not many candidates well-prepared and
honestly, I think that the top It must have been three candidates, without so
much detour.

The top 5
was made up of who do you think? Well, the same ones that I have been
mentioning from the beginning: Sheynnis Palacios, Isabela Salgado, Daysi
Velásquez, Waymara Antonio and Chantal Urbina, which I did not expect, but it
was not a great surprise either, since she was very good throughout the
competition.

Questions
were very simple, some were a cliché and some were very basic, so I'm not going
to detail that part. The best answer was that of Sheynnis who showed off her
excellent oratory and security. The worst response was that of Waymara Antonio,
I was surprised by his lack of poise, his nervousness and his insecurity. She
was afraid to speak, and I was so sorry, because she was doing it so well.

This article is trending
on my blog Magali Febles adds fuel to the fire, talking more about the first runner-up of Miss Universe El Salvador 2023

Let's go
Waymara! Prepare yourself a little more and better, because you have talent,
beauty and potential to continue in beauty pageants. Isabela Salgado, who was
another great favorite to win the crown, did not do badly, I did really like
Isabela's answer. Her negative point is oratory, although personally I saw much
progress in this area, I saw her more fluid and natural when speaking, I think
her problem is that she not delivers a message with confident.

Isabela,
take the time you need to overcome this position and to improve, there is no
rush! You're still in the range of age. Beauty, poise and elegance... you have
plenty!

And that's
how Isabela was the second runner-up, Daysi was the first runner-up and
Sheynnis was crowned. Congratulations to our beautiful Miss Nicaragua 2023. I
see this girl as a "Máxima" which means as "One of the best contestants
for the upcoming Miss Universe". She has everything to reach a top 5 or be
crowned. Can you imagine it? Nicaragua winning the Miss Universe! OMG! It's
gonna give me a heart attack just thinking about it.

When I
thought that the controversy generated by the election of Isabela García Manzo
as Miss Universe El Salvador 2023 would not go any further, Ms. Magali Febles
appeared to add fuel, much more fuel to the fire. But what the director and
franchise holder of Miss Universe Dominican Republic is doing giving her
opinion and talking about the beauty queens from El Salvador? If you don't know
the answer, then keep reading, because in this note I'll tell you everything I
know about it: Who is Magali Febles? What did she say about the first runner-up
of Miss Universe El Salvador 2023? Why did she say that? And many more answers
to the questions that everyone is asking right now.

Who is
Magali Febles?

Ms. Febles
is the owner of the Miss Universe franchise for the Dominican Republic, she is
also the director of the national pageant of this country. She has been a
franchise holder for Miss Universe Puerto Rico and Miss Universe Haiti. She has
a lot of experience in beauty pageants, and since 2002 until today, she has
been the franchise holder for her country for the most important beauty pageant
in the world: Miss Universe.

It may be interesting to read Miss Universe Peru 2023 is Camila Scribens. The Worst and the Best of the Night

Among her
achievements are, with great pride for Puerto Ricans, the fifth Miss Universe
crown in 2006, conquered by Zuleyka Rivera and under the direction and training
of Magali. Another of her important achievements is getting the position of
first runner-up in Miss Universe 2016, with the young Haitian Raquel Pélissier,
while she was in charge of the franchise in this country. It is worth
mentioning that Haiti had not achieved such a high position since 1975, with
Gerthie David, who was also the first finalist of the edition.

Magali Febles with Zuleyka Rivera, Miss Universe 2006

Magali Febles crowning her two Miss Universe, crowns that the young women conquered under her direction and advice.

More
recently, in January 2023, Magali managed to reach, this time for the Dominican
Republic, her native country, the position of first runner-up in Miss Universe
with her pupil Andreina Martínez.

What is the
relationship of Magali Febles with the beauty queens from El Salvador?

The story
is quite short. Ms. Febles was hired by the Salvadoran government to coordinate
and direct the Miss Universe El Salvador Organization this year, and also to
prepare the beauty queen of this country for the universal contest that will
take place in San Salvador on November 18, 2023. So, if you skipped the
previous paragraphs, I suggest you go back to read more about Magali Febles
and the reasons why the Bukele government hired her.

Magali
Febles with Nayib Bukele, current president of El Salvador

Although the rumors that Magali was advising the Miss El Salvador Organization had been circulating for several weeks on social media, it was not until last week, July 26 to be exact, that the release of a photo of her with Nayib Bukele (President of El Salvador) made the news authentic and official.

Magali Febles with Nayib Bukele, current president of El Salvador

All the
photos of the Mister Supranational Brazil 2023 candidates are Here

In this
way, Magali becomes an adviser and an important part of the organization of
Miss Universe El Salvador and "gets a hand" in the Central American
pageant.

Although it
was handled that the election and coordination of the Miss Universe El Salvador
2023 event would be 100% in the hands of the current franchise holders, this
apparently was not entirely true, because Magali, by posting the already famous
video, showed that other people were involved in the selection of the queen and
this is not slandered, but rather an analysis of what she said and how she said
it in her video.

What did
Magali Febles say in the famous video?

Well… she
said everything she shouldn't have said. Below, I transcribe her words:

"I
understand that you saw her as a winner because you see her pretty. For me, she
is an excellent model for photography and if she won, I would work with her,
anyway. I have nothing against her, she’s a sweetie and everything, but we're
talking about contests at a professional level, so: Fatima (Cuellar) has gone
to two (international) contests, and she hasn't won them, she hasn't won them.
What makes you all think she's going to enter the Miss Universe pageant which
is so demanding, and she is going to win? Please, someone explains that to
me!"

Do you
understand now why there are more upset Salvadorans, after listening to Magali?
The people's mega-favorite did not win, and you can read my full note about
that Here, and now the organization's adviser comes out saying that Fatima is
more of a model (than miss) and practically calls her a "loser"
because Fatima did not win any of the international contests you went to. OH MY
GOD! Magali you left us IN SHOCK!

Like my page La Dina Miss on Facebook, click Here

She called
it "recycled queen", a term that for me is very derogatory, but unfortunately it
is very common and quite popular in the world of beauty pageants. No Magali, Misses
(beauty queens) are not recyclable!

And what will happen next?

I am not a fortune-teller nor do I have a time machine to go to the future and see what happens, but I can tell you that I would love if the people who hired Magali "bring her down to earth" because she went out publicly saying things that she shouldn't have said. I know she has the right to speak and express herself, but because she is currently under the public eye for being the organization's adviser, hired by the government, so everything she says can (and this has been the case) bothering Fatima Cuellar fans, top 15 of Miss World 2018 and recently named first runner-up of Miss Universe El Salvador 2023.

More about the beauty queens from El Salvador in my
blog:

Salvadorans are IN SHOCK

The Best and The Worst of the Most Glamorous Night in El Salvador

The election and
coronation of Miss El Salvador 2023 was held from the National Theater of San
Salvador city, on July 30. In this post I want to tell you everything about the
event, the good and the bad, from the scenery to the level of competitiveness
of the candidates. There is a lot to talk about, so keep reading because you
know that I do not keep anything.

The Best

I will start by telling
what it was the best of the night, because there were some very nice things
that are worth mentioning and celebrating:

The
sound quality: I really liked the sound, it was of excellent quality, there
were no technical issues to regret and even the musical numbers were live,
which speaks well of the preparation of the organization in this regard.

The
scenery: It was nothing special, nothing we haven't already seen, but without a
doubt, it was spectacular and very beautiful if I compare it with other
national events in the Central American region. I liked it because, despite the
fact that the stage looked small, the organization knew how to enhance the
angles and depth. They used several small and medium-sized screens that gave
the stage an elegant air. Something was missing? Yes, but let's remember
that in general, Central America does not make large investments in this aspect
of the event.

The
opening wardrobe: some with sky-blue dresses, others with gold-tone dresses,
but all with the same design, which gave the event an air of elegance and
fairness. I must tell you that the design was not so modern, but it fulfilled
its objective: that the misses looked comfortable and could move. In general, I
really liked it, because they all looked like what they were: beauty queens.

The
hosts of the gala: a beautiful woman and an elegant man were in charge of the
main animation, they were Luciana Sandoval and Henry Urbina. They both did a
good job, and although personally I prefer a sober, elegant type of hosting, I
must admit that their style of radio announcers kept my eyes open.

Swimsuits:
I loved the swimsuit that the organization chose for the candidates, the color
and design suited them all very well. I didn't like the faithful copy of the
Miss Universe capes, I didn't understand why they didn't opt for something more
original and to be honest, most of the contestants didn't even know how to wear
them.

Fitness
bodies and stunning silhouettes: Obviously! That's why the swimsuit turned out
so well on all of them. Beauty queens of El Salvador do go to the gym,
gentlemen! And no one who has seen the contest can doubt it, the girls looked
toned, with marked abdomens and stylized legs. That was not a parade of
swimsuits, it was a parade of spectacular bodies. Congratulations to all the
candidates, because achieving that level of body toning is a matter of commitment,
discipline, perseverance and determination.

Candidates
at Internationals pageants level? I saw many candidates who definitely
"nailed it", not only in stage projection, elegance, body and
silhouette, but also in personal
development and oratory. I did see several crownable and worthy girls of
taking the El Salvador sash internationally. Which make me to clarify that
several of these contestants are "diamonds in the rough" in need of
being advised and well-trained for an expert, because almost all of them had
the touch of a model, but many showed versatility and that should be taken as
an advantage.

The Worst

The
opening: I found it very basic, from the music to the choreography. The
candidates looked shy, as if they were afraid to move from one place to
another. It did not catch me, it did not generate expectation or convey joy.

The musical numbers: the guest of the
night was Lasso, a venezuelan singer, who presumed to have collaborated with
well-known latins artists, such as Mexican Danna Paola and Colombian Sebastián
Yatra. Lasso was nominated for a Grammy Awards, for best new artist. I
highlight and recognize the effort of the organization to bring an
international artist to the event, without a doubt it gives the contest
prominence and prestige.

Lasso's music seemed a bit out of
place to me, the rhythm was very slow, the way the songs were presented to the
audience gave the impression of being in a concert or a recital and not on the
stage of a beauty pageant full of dreams, energy and emotions. It was lacking
of integration of both elements to let the music and the singer be part of the
show and not look like another musical number that gives the beauty queens time
to change for their next activity on stage. I cannot fail to mention that the
lighting at that moment seemed very dim and added to the type of music that the
singer played, it was a combination that unfortunately got boring.

There
was another couple from the box seat of the theater, they were Ana Paola
Sifuentes and Mario Sibrian, who played the role of commentators. I did not
understand what was the purpose of the executive producer to have them as
commentators, because most of the time they were repeated information given by
the hosts, they had no content or anything to comment on, it was very
redundant, boring and made the event last longer.

There
was a fifth presenter, a woman whose name I did not see anywhere and who was
not introduced by her peers either. She was in charge of announcing the
sponsors' products in front of a big screen. I felt that there was no
integration of this set with the rest of the event either, it seemed to me that
I was watching an info-commercial program, since there was nothing on the set
that made reference to the great beauty event of the night. I must add that the
presenter's dress and styling did not contribute much, despite the fact that
she looked pretty, the truth is that dress was not the right one to be part of
an evening for beauty queens.

Evening
Dresses: No, no evening dresses at the gala! The organization opted for one evening dress for all the
candidates, yes, you read it right! A single design for all the 14 candidates.
They chose a light blue color and a fairly simple design. I suppose that was
because of the rush that the organization was in, to crown their queen and
start her preparation. What can I tell you? I did not like the color of the
dress, it was lost into the background, and because it is a beauty pageant, it
seems necessary and meritorious for each candidate to shine in their own way,
with a dress that makes them stand out and feel spectacular, something that the
light blue dress-uniform did not allow them to do.

14
candidates, a TOP 10? My God! I was in shock with that rudeness and misplaced
idea, zero points for what came up with tremendous madness. Leaving those 4
girls clapping was horrible, I can't say it any other way. With a Top 5, 6 or
even 7, it was enough. It is called TOP because it is a filter to highlight the
best contestants of the competition, it's that simple.

Miss
Grand or Miss Universe? I must say this very clear, because it is something
that bothered me a lot. Most of the candidates walked as if they were in the
Miss Grand International pageant and not competing to be a Miss Universe
candidate. I saw a lot of show, a lot of air kisses, an uncoordinated runway,
very "Grand" style. Could that be Aunty Anne's new suggestion?
Because it is well known that this style is loved in Asia, I hope this is not
the case, because Miss Universe is synonymous of glamour, elegance, distinction
and modesty. Miss Universe style, don't leave us, please!

I hope I haven't forgotten anything! And if that's the case, remember
that I always leave comments box activated, so you can write to let me know
what was missing. Thank you for visiting my blog, and we will "read each
other in the next note".
